We were sorry to hear of the death of George Brown of Longniddry, East Lothian on 22nd December after a short illness. George had been a member of BDXC since 1985 and was also a member of several other DX clubs, notably the Danish SW Club International. George had a keen interest in the hobby, including both medium and short-wave DXing, and had been on several Sheigra DXpeditions in the past. He was also a regular attender at European DX Council conferences over many years, including the most recent conference in St Petersburg in September 2015, and will be much missed at the conferences. Our condolences to George’s family.

Anker Petersen (DSWCI) writes: George Brown became member no. 480 of the DSWCI back in 1968 and has during these 47 years been an active member of our club. I knew him well through the many EDXC Conferences he has attended. The last one was, as you know, in September 2015 in St. Petersburg. He became 80 years in March 2015 and began DX-ing in 1952. He preferred listening to domestic SW stations from Latin America, Asia, Africa and Oceania. He often was DX-ing 30 hours per week!
